AireBarrier Black
Patented high-density polyurethane air barrier — the Auburn-study workhorse.
AireBarrier Black is the patented sealant chemistry at the core of the Ag-Tite system. Developed by Sealant Technologies, Inc. since 2005, it was validated in the Auburn University poultry study where broiler barns sealed with AireBarrier through SprayPod equipment showed 25–40% energy savings versus comparable un-sealed barns.

Key features
- Documented 25–40% energy savings in Auburn University poultry study
- Twice the density of competing polyurethane products
- Only agricultural sealant tested to ASTM E-84
- Hard, smooth cured surface — resists darkling beetle harborage
- Adheres to lumber, metal, concrete, plastics
Why high density matters
AireBarrier Black cures at approximately 1.5 lb/ft³ — twice the density of standard polyurethane sealants in our category. Higher density means a harder, smoother finished surface that resists damage from darkling beetles, rodents, and routine farm-machine contact.
Auburn validation
In the Auburn University Poultry Science study, broiler houses sealed with AireBarrier Black through SprayPod equipment showed 25–40% energy savings and exceptional darkling beetle resistance — even after years in service with the sealant sprayed down to litter line.
E-84 tested
AireBarrier Black is the only agricultural spray sealant tested to ASTM E-84 (Standard Test Method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials). This matters for code compliance in many states.
